Childhood, Class, and the 18th Century

A new exhibition in Rocca Sorentina Exhibit Hall presents late 18th century European paintings and drawings. The focus is on the depiction of children and artistic portrayal of childhood intersected with class and, in some instances, race.

By clicking on each painting, you receive a notecard with interesting pieces of information on the artist and people portrayed, including facts on social and historical background.
